Conservative Party Conference 2025: Planning for new Homes: Delivering Quality in Quantity
Panel: Hannah David – Planning Futures (Chair); Baroness Maclean of Redditch – Minister of State for Housing and Planning 2023; Cllr Dan Swords – Leader, Harlow Council; Kate Henderson – Chief Executive, National Housing Federation; Andrew Taylor – Group Planning Director, Vistry Group.
Whilst currently in opposition, the Conservative Party continues to have a significant influence over the way we plan for and deliver new housing. In Parliament, and in Conservative-led councils across the country, Conservative politicians play an important role in shaping national and local planning policy and in making decisions about the quantity and quality of new housing that is delivered.
As the party goes through a period of renewal, this panel event will explore how Conservatives can continue to contribute to delivering the housing that Britain so desperately needs.
Bringing together leading politicians and key industry experts, the session will explore how we can build the quantum of housing needed, whilst maintaining the highest standards in place making and protecting the natural environment.
