Planning Futures Supper Club – Gideon Amos MP, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Housing and Planning
Gideon Amos is perhaps the most experienced planner in Parliament. A chartered member of both the RTPI and RIBA, he has enjoyed a long career in planning practice, both in public and private sector roles.
He is a former Chief Executive of the Town and Country Planning Association, a former Commissioner at the Infrastructure Planning Commission, and has worked at the Planning Inspectorate.
Prior to entering Parliament last year as the Liberal Democrat MP for Taunton and Wellington, he was a Founder and Director at Amos Ellis Consulting, a firm of planners, architects and urban designers.
In Parliament, he has become one of the most prominent voices on planning and, as Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Planning and Housing, has been at the forefront of debates on the current Planning and Infrastructure Bill.
With the Liberal Democrats becoming an increasingly powerful voice in local and national government, we are delighted that he has agreed to join us for this edition of the Planning Futures Supper Club.
Following the usual Supper Club format, Mr Amos will deliver an after-dinner speech outlining the approach that the Liberal Democrats are taking on planning and housing in this parliament and beyond.
This will be followed by an informal, yet informed, discussion amongst attendees.
