The Planning Futures team recently met with Housing and Planning Minister, Brandon Lewis, to discuss the findings of their recent report – Outer London Town Centres: A New Approach.
The report focuses on Outer London, but offers insights into how high streets and town centres across the country can transform their futures by taking a more innovative and proactive approach to planning.
Following the meeting, the Minister congratulated Planning Futures on their launch saying, “As a planning and development focussed think tank they will add real value to our national debate”.
The Minister was also enthusiastic about the report, saying: “I welcome their inaugural report on Town Centres. It is a timely and relevant contribution to a critical debate. We will be carefully considering its recommendations.”
Planning Futures Director, Cian Bryan said, “we are delighted with the Minister’s positive response to our work. We look forward to contributing further to the planning and housing debate in the UK and will keep him up to date on our ongoing research findings”.
